Powerpoint Tips and Tricks Training

PowerPoint is one of those programs that seems easy on the surface, but you know there have to be some quicker ways of completing common tasks! In this class we will focus on keyboard and mouse shortcuts as well as quicker ways of reusing content than copy and paste. In addition, some time will be spent on customizing SmartArt-Microsoft’s easy diagram creator. We will also look at how to navigate longer presentation and slide show shortcuts.

Who should attend this class?

Beginner to Intermediate users of any version of PowerPoint. Knowledge of how to create slides and insert and format text and shapes is essential.

Where is this class held?

This is a live, online class led by a field expert; and just like an in-person class, it is fully interactive and engaging. The difference between an online and onsite class? No travel! You can participate from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. Many of our students choose to stay home from work on these training days, some never even changing out of their slippers! Where applicable, students are able to speak with and hear from the instructor and other participants throughout the course as they work in real-time to complete activities.

Anyone who wants to learn more about the formatting of a website. All you need is a basic text editor such as Notepad (PC) or TextEdit (Mac) and a browser. Knowledge of basic HTML codes is mandatory.

Topics covered include, but not limited to:

  • Keyboard and Mouse shortcuts

You will learn keyboard and mouse shortcuts for zooming, duplicating, grouping, creating and organizing bulleted lists, formatting text and many others!

  • SmartArt

SmartArt allows you to create easy diagrams by either converting bulleted items or by typing data. However, these pre-made diagrams are not always as customizable as you might like. By ungrouping SmartArt, you can manipulate the graphic to create a true one-of=a kind diagram.

  • Working with longer presentations

Reuse slides from other presentations without copy and paste, import an outline from Word to create a presentation, insert sections to easily rearrange a presentation, and change slide layout without starting over!

  • Slide Show shortcuts

Learn how to hide and display certain slides, create custom slide shows, and save a slide show so that it opens automatically in slide show mode. In addition, you will learn some very cool keyboard shortcuts to move through a presentation like a pro!

LOVE that Jennie is having us do the driving. It's a totally different class experience and I'm finding it VERY engaging. (Am definitely going to steal the idea for my own training programs with small class sizes.)
