Adobe recently announced an upgrade to Captivate, its popular eLearning development tool. Attend this fast-paced session and get hands-on lessons on the hottest new features that make version 2017 (also known as version 10) the best version of Captivate ever.

What’s to love about Captivate 2017? How about seamless upgrades from older versions of Captivate? What about the ability to save standard, non-responsive projects as responsive projects? If you need to create responsive projects from scratch, how about the all new “fluid boxes” that will make responsive design easier and faster than ever? If accessibility is a requirement for your eLearning, you’ll love the improved closed captioning features. And if missing fonts in your project are causing you sleepless nights, Captivate’s integration with Typekit will end font concerns forever.

Where is this class held?

This is a live, online class led by a field expert; and just like an in-person class, it is fully interactive and engaging. The difference between an online and onsite class? No travel! You can participate from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. Many of our students choose to stay home from work on these training days, some never even changing out of their slippers! Where applicable, students are able to speak with and hear from the instructor and other participants throughout the course as they work in real-time to complete activities.

Topics covered include, but not limited to:

  • Upgrading and Saving as Responsive

If you’ve got existing Captivate projects, there’s no reason to start over again with Captivate 2017. Upgrading is a snap… and so is saving standard projects as responsive projects.

  • Fluid Boxes

Fluid Boxes are intelligent containers that use white space optimally. Objects placed in Fluid Boxes get aligned automatically so that learners always get a fully responsive experience regardless of their device or browser.

  • Improved Closed Captioning

Closed captioning has always been a Captivate strength. In version 2017, it’s much improved. Captions are easier to add and you have more formatting controls than ever.

  • Integration with Adobe Typekit

In older versions of Captivate, you really needed to limit your projects to web safe fonts or risk having your lessons being ruined when the fonts you expected were replaced with a generic font such as Times New Roman. Now that Captivate is integrated with Adobe Typekit, you’re free to create branded content that will look consistent across all devices.

Great job! I really enjoyed this. My fellow coworkers and I took the course together and the consensus is that is was excellent. I also really love the ICONLOGIC workbooks. I am a newbie to RH and I went through the workbook before the class and was impressed that it was so easy to follow.
