Attend this 3-hour class and you'll learn to use some of the slickest Captivate features that will engage your learners like never before. Specifically, you will learn how to add complex interactivity that combines widgets, drag and drop, variables, standard actions, conditional actions, and decision blocks.

Note: This class is very interactive; exercise files will be provided for Captivate 9 or newer. If you are using previous versions of captivate you can attend the class but exercise files will not be provided. A trial version of Captivate is fine and can be downloaded from www.adobe.com

Looking for cool ways to integrate drag and drop interactions into your eLearning course? In this class, you will learn some inventive drag and drop activities you can use in your eLearning courses to make it immersive, engaging, and exciting for your learners.

Scenarios are good for covering problem-solving activities, but they may not facilitate learners going deeper into complex situations. For that, more involved branching scenarios are a good option, in which decisions that learners make in early scenes can affect what happens in later scenes. In this class you’ll practice creating a branching scenario to help learners practice skills, recover from mistakes, and retain information.
In this class we’ll incorporate:

  • Conditional Actions.

If you intend to build complex interactions or create games in Captivate, conditional actions are the way to go. Conditional actions allow you to create a variety of actions for specific situations.

  • Multiple Decision Blocks

What makes conditional actions even more powerful is the ability to add numerous decisions blocks that are executed, one after the other, in a specific sequence. Using Decision Blocks you can gather multiple criteria in order to personalize and branch the learner to specific areas in your course.

  • Shared Actions

If you’ve created custom actions in your project, it is possible to share them within the same course or export to other courses, which makes your development process more effective.

  • Widgets

With the install of captivate you have access to learning interactions (which are a type of widget that you can add variables and advanced actions to customize the learners experience.

  • Expressions

Expressions are typically used in captivate to perform complex mathematical equations (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction). However, you can also use expressions to concatenate strings of actions together.

Jennie was extremely engaging. Her technique of allowing us to share our computers as we worked through a task kept me on my toes and helped make the session more interactive. She was very knowledgable and patient and I would take a class with her again.
