If you give your message to your target audience the way they want to receive it, you can increase message reach and engagement. Learn how to coordinate messages across multiple channels easily so that your internal communications resonate with your audiences. You will learn about numerous communications channels, which ones are best, and how to optimize your messages on different channels to maximize your communications effectiveness. You will learn pros and cons of each channel and how to choose the right channels for specific messages. All of this will help enhance your internal communications, overcome challenges, and improve employee engagement.

This hands-on class will cover:

  • Why use multiple channels

We will explore why you should use multiple channels to expand your reach and target specific audiences. We’ll discuss why it’s important to give people the messages they want when they want them and in their preferred format, plus how to increase engagement and track metrics.

  • The channels

We will examine more than 20 channels, their pros and cons, and how to leverage each for maximum value. We’ll talk about which channels are best for different types of messages, including crisis communications.

  • Customize/edit your message for the channel

You will learn about editing your messages for appropriate tone, style, and length. We will discuss image selection and do an editing exercise to reinforce what you learn.

  • Create more interactions

We will explore how to create more interactions and engagement through channel testing, the feedback loop, surveys, employee comments, and photo sharing.

  • Measure your success

If you want to repeat what works, you must watch, track, and roll. We will discuss how to compile data about your channels, analyze results, test your theories, follow up, and improve.

  • Report your effectiveness

A good report helps leaders see the value of your work. You’ll learn how to keep it simple, make a clear presentation, and plan to make a “year in review” report that will impress others and maybe help you increase resources or budget.

  • Go to the next level

After you understand how to leverage your channels for success, you can begin to develop a strategic plan that will take your communications to the next level. We’ll discuss how this can help your organization increase long-term engagement and become a great place to work.
