This course provides quick exposure to the main features every Articulate Storyline developer needs to know. You will be familiarized with the Storyline interface, gain exposure to how Storyline works with slides, and learn how to insert various assets and content. You’ll create a mini eLearning course complete with images, basic triggers, simple layers, a variable, and even a quiz. You’ll also learn about Storyline’s publishing options.
Who Should Attend?
- eLearning developers who are new to Storyline
- Project managers that need to understand Storyline
- Anyone who is new to eLearning and needs to understand Storyline
Where is this class held?
This is a live, online class led by a field expert; and just like an in-person class, it is fully interactive and engaging. The difference between an online and onsite class? No travel! You can participate from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. Many of our students choose to stay home from work on these training days, some never even changing out of their slippers! Where applicable, students are able to speak with and hear from the instructor and other participants throughout the course as they work in real-time to complete activities.
Need something a little more personal?
We understand your team might have specific training needs and we would love to work with you. We offer both online and on-site instructor-led, fully customizeable courses tailored to your training needs.
Topics covered include
Storyline Interface elements and panels
Get a bird’s-eye view of the Storyline interface and the essential panels every Storyline user needs to know.
Scenes and slides
Understand the backbone of every Storyline project and the relationship between Scenes and Slides.
Inserting common elements and slide objects
Know your way around basic objects and how to format them.
Inserting interactive elements and buttons
Get familiar with the basic objects that make eLearning development in Storyline an interactive experience.
Get a jump start on the Timeline and learn to control when and how long slide objects appear onscreen.
States (the essentials)
Every button can behave and look differently as the learner interacts with it. For instance, you can assign a Hover State to a button for when the learner hovers above it but does not click it. And you can have the button change color when the learner clicks it. You’ll get introduced to States and how to apply them.
Introduction to triggers
Get a clear first look at basic triggers (which are the key to managing interactivity in your Storyline eLearning courses)
Layers are areas within Storyline that contain just about any slide object. Because Layers have their own Timeline, they behave much like Storyline slides. By default, new Layers are hidden from learner view. You can use Triggers to control when the hidden Layers appear on a slide.
Getting familiar with basic variables
Variables serve as buckets for data. The data can be used to provide feedback to the learner and/or allow you as the developer to create conditional scenarios. For instance, you could use a variable to capture a learners name. Once the name has been “stored” by the variable, the name can be displayed over and over again throughout the lesson.
Introduction to Quizzes
Storyline quiz building is robust and fun. Get a first look at how question and results slides are created.
Get a quick introduction to the player and the publishing options available in Storyline.
