Many new Adobe Captivate developers dive right in when it comes to creating new eLearning projects. The process is typically the same: the developer either creates a blank project or records a software demonstration (or simulation). While the end result of constantly starting fresh can be a perfectly fine-eLearning module or course, there was likely a ton of redundant work that went into getting the project ready to publish. For instance, a Theme had to be applied, master slides created, object styles modified, Start-and-End properties set… the list goes on and on.
When creating a new project, a Captivate developer is basically starting over again each time… from scratch. There’s often little consistency from project to project (especially if you’re working in a team environment).
To ensure that your projects are consistent from developer to developer, and project to project, it’s essential that everyone uses a project template… from the beginning. Starting the development process with a well-designed template ensures that each project has a consistent size, Theme, master slides, object styles, placeholders, variables, widgets, advanced actions, and more.
Attend this 3-hour session and you’ll learn how to start a project based on a template, and how to create and edit your own project templates.
Where is this class held?
This is a live, online class led by a field expert; and just like an in-person class, it is fully interactive and engaging. The difference between an online and onsite class? No travel! You can participate from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. Many of our students choose to stay home from work on these training days, some never even changing out of their slippers! Where applicable, students are able to speak with and hear from the instructor and other participants throughout the course as they work in real-time to complete activities.
Need something a little more personal?
We understand your team might have specific training needs and we would love to work with you. We offer both online and on-site instructor-led, fully customizeable courses tailored to your training needs.
Topics covered include:
- Creating new projects based on a project template
You will compare the process of creating projects with and without a template. It won’t take long for you to understand how a template ensures consistency from project to project.
- Template Anatomy
You’ll open an existing template and learn about some of its key components including master slides, Themes, object styles, project settings, and more.
- Master Slides
Master Slides are a key component to any template. You’ll learn how to create them and how to apply them to Filmstrip slides.
- Create a Template
You’ll complete your training by creating a project template from scratch (including Placeholder slides, Master slides, and a custom Theme). Then you’ll use your new template to create a new project.
