Course Objectives
Are you a professional photographer or just an enthusiastic amateur eager to get started with photo editing? This is the class for you! It doesn't matter what you intend to do with this program, you absolutely need to have a solid understanding of selections, layers and basic retouching techniques. This class will have you up and running in no time, and we guarantee you will have good time in the process. Our most popular class, maybe because it is the most fun to both attend and teach!

Getting to Know the Work Area (a quick overview of the CS3 interface)

Adobe Bridge (see how to manage all your digital images using the enhanced CS3 Bridge software)

Working with Selections (learn how to use the basic selection tools, including the Marquee, Lasso, Magic Wand and Quick Select, to allow you to focus your corrections to specific parts of an image)

Layer Basics (a look at how layers are used to accomplish non-destructive editing of complex images)

Masks & Channels (learn intermediate level selection techniques, including updating saved selections and the Extract filter)

Basic Photo Corrections (learn the eight general steps to effective photo retouching, and how to prepare files for a print workflow)

Retouching and Repairing (focus on the flaw and blemish repair tools, including the Clone Stamp tool, the Healing Brush, the Patch tool and the Red Eye removal tool.)

About Your Instructor
Barbara Binder started in the publishing field in 1986 with PageMaker's first release for Windows. She has been delivering corporate training as a free-lance instructor since 1987, mostly in the Washington, D.C area. In 2005, she moved to the foothills west of Denver to escape the congestion and the craziness of life "inside the Beltway."
In addition to being the owner of Rocky Mountain Training near Denver, Colorado, Barb holds current Adobe certifications on Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, PhotoShop and InCopy. As an Adobe Certified Instructor with more than 20 years of classroom experience, she is ready to deliver the training needed to help you improve your publishing workflow.
Barbara was recently recognized by Adobe Systems, Inc., as one of the Top Five Most Highly-Rated Adobe Certified Instructors Worldwide for July through December 2007.
