This Advanced InDesign class is focused on streamlining your workflow so that you can get your publication to the printer in a timely manner and still have your nights and weekends for yourself. Working with Typography (baseline alignment across multiple columns, glyphs, drop caps, spacing controls, tracking & kerning controls, setting tabs, attaching rules to paragraphs)

Working with Styles (a review of paragraph and character styles, plus how to nest character styles within a paragraph style, and a look at object styles, table styles and cell styles)

Importing and Linking Graphics (understanding the Links panel, plus how to get the most from your Illustrator and Photoshop files after they are placed into your InDesign layout)

Creating Tables (learn how to import an Excel spreadsheet and control the formatting with table and cell styles)

Output and PDF Exporting (using Preflight and Package commands, learn how to prepare files to send out for commercial printing)

About Your Instructor
Barbara Binder started in the publishing field in 1986 with PageMaker's first release for Windows. She has been delivering corporate training as a free-lance instructor since 1987, mostly in the Washington, D.C area. In 2005, she moved to the foothills west of Denver to escape the congestion and the craziness of life "inside the Beltway."
In addition to being the owner of Rocky Mountain Training near Denver, Colorado, Barb holds current Adobe certifications on Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, PhotoShop and InCopy. As an Adobe Certified Instructor with more than 20 years of classroom experience, she is ready to deliver the training needed to help you improve your publishing workflow.
